Attention, book sale lovers! If you love to volunteer or shop at the sale, mark your calendar for May 11-14, 2024 at the Penn State Snider Ag Arena. This event is AAUW State College’s signature fundraiser, raising money for local grants and scholarships that help advance equity for women and girls.
SHOPPERS: The books for the sale are all donated by very generous community members and processed by AAUW members and volunteers June – March at the AAUW State College Used Book Workshop. In total, 3,500-4,000 boxes of books will be brought to the sale, approximately 150,000 books, making this one of the largest such book sales in the country.
Books are arranged in over 30 categories, such as art, biography, children’s, comics, collectibles, fiction, hobbies, history, literature, and many more. The largest single category is children’s, with over 25,000 books. A major goal of the sale is to make books affordable so – so books are priced to sell.
