The Program Committee plans mission-based programs such as this discussion on Reproductive Rights.

The Scholarship Committee selects each year’s recipients.

Awards

Reviews nominations solicited from membership for annual branch awards to be presented at the spring banquet. Time frame: February 

Communications

Assists with internal and external communications via Branch Bulletin, e-blasts, website updates; social media, material preparation; media releases. Time frame: year-round

Diversity & Inclusion

Ensures that diversity, equality, and inclusion goals are being met in branch programs and in communications. Time frame: year-round

Grants

Reviews Community Action Grant applications and help select grant recipients. Time frame: April-May

Membership

Maintains membership records, welcomes new members, and plans mombership-focused activities for the branch. Time frame: year-round

Programs

Plans and implements mission-based programs and works in coordination with other committees. Time frame: September-May

Public Policy

Shares importnat public policy updates with members, through programs and via branch communications, on issues that advance equity for women and girls. Priorities include equal access in education, fair districting, pay equality, reproductive rights, voter education, and women in leadership. Time-frame: year-round

Scholarship

Reviews and selects annual scholarship recipients for recognition at the spring banquet, using funds generated by the Used Book Sale. Time-frame: March-April 

STEM

Includes a combination of branch members and community members who are engaged in science, technology, engineering, and math. The group plans and staffs several STEM activities for young girls all the way through to women graduate students. Time frame: year-round

Used Book Sale

Help with set-up, greet shoppers, restock tables, serve as cashiers. Help also is needed with publicity leading up to the sale. Shifts are usually three hours in length. Time frame: mid-May

Used Book Workshop

Sort and price books at the Used Book Workshop, located at 2197 High Tech Road near University Park Airport. The workshop is open for volunteers Monday evenings and Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the daytime. Shifts are flexible. Time-frame: June-March.
