AAUW State College has been a force for change and support for women in Centre County for 110 years. This program will touch on some highlights of the branch's efforts and examine the impact of women who are focused on a singular mission for good.
A few examples include advocating for the first woman on Penn State's Board of Trustees; funding Schlow Library and the Women's Resource Program; developing a network for after-school kids; establishing a successful and profitable used book sale; offering scholarships for returning adult women. By spearheading numerous community and social justice initiatives, the State College branch has been impactful.
