Information We Collect

Membership accounts

When you join or renew your membership, we collect your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number. This information is stored in our membership management system (Paid Memberships Pro) and is used to manage your account, provide member benefits, and communicate branch news and events.

Forms

Our website includes forms for contacting us, applying for STEM mini-grants, and applying for Community Action Grants. These forms collect the information you provide (such as your name, email address, and message content). Form submissions are sent to the appropriate branch email address and are not stored in the website database.

Member profiles

Members may optionally provide additional information in their profile, such as a biographical note, photo, address, and rideshare preferences. Profile information marked as directory-visible is accessible to other logged-in members only.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Calendar API — Displays upcoming branch events on the member dashboard. No personal data is sent to Google through this feature.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Login sessions — When you log in, cookies keep you signed in as you navigate the site. These are removed when you log out or expire after two weeks if you selected “Remember Me.”
  • Analytics — Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track site usage anonymously.

Our website uses SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS) for all connections. Member passwords are stored using one-way encryption and are never visible to site administrators. Access to the website’s administrative tools is restricted to authorized branch volunteers.

Your Rights
