Shopping event with Ten Thousand Villages
November 3 - November 5
A non-profit, Ten Thousand Villages builds long-term buying relationships to support the sustainability of artisan businesses and impact families generationally. About 65% of the artisans they work with are women.
We seek branch members to staff our AAUW State College table during the event. Volunteers are needed Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4 from 11 – 6 pm and Sunday, November 5 from 12 – 4 pm. Table staffing is fun and easy. We talk with customers, share information about AAUW, and encourage shoppers to mention AAUW when they make their purchases. When they do, a percentage of proceeds will be redirected back to AAUW State College. Last year, we netted a record $679 from the event.
