Hours

The 2010 AAUW State College Branch Used Book Sale will be held May 8 - 11, Saturday through Tuesday, at the Snider Agricultural Arena on Penn State's University Park campus. The doors will open at 9 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. daily.

Monday, May 10th, is Half-Price Day and Tuesday, May 11th, is Bag Day. On Bag Day customers will be able to buy a bag of books for $5.00 - AAUW will supply the bag.

Admittance

Free admission throughout the sale!

The doors will open promptly at 9:00 a.m. For patrons waiting in line for admittance, entrance numbers will be distributed beginning at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 by designated sale staff. Numbers will be distributed until 8:50 a.m. as buyers congregate. These are the only valid entrance numbers. During the 2009 sale, 628 people were admitted within the first 20 minutes.

The customer line to get into the sale will not form until Friday, May 7, 2010. Items left before Friday to mark a place in line will be removed.

Once you have received your number, you are free to go out for breakfast. The official queuing of the line for the opening of the doors will take place beginning at 8:30 a.m. and follow strict numeric order.

Admittance into the arena prior to 9:00 a.m. for any reason (including use of the bathroom) is strictly the prerogative of sale staff.

NOTE: During the 2007 Sale, 630 people were admitted within the first 20 minutes.

Types of Payment

We accept cash and checks. We are not equipped to accept credit cards. An ATM machine is located in lobby of the Centre County Visitors’ Center, which is located across the street from the Snider Agricultural Arena. The Visitors’ Center opens at 9 a.m.
